Q.  Is Glass City Card Controls a mobile app?

A. Yes, Glass City Card Controls is a unique mobile app where you create your own username and password that is different than your home banking sign in.

Q.  What is the primary purpose of this application?

A. This mobile app is meant to give you, the cardholder, full control of your Glass City debit and credit cards for easier management.  The app allows you to quickly check the balance of your credit card, as well as block or unblock your credit and debit cards to prevent any unwanted transactions from occurring.

Q. How do I register for the Card Controls app?

A. You search for Glass City Card Controls on your mobile phone’s app (Apple iTunes or Google Play) store. You then follow the directions to create a user name and password, and then add your Glass City Debit and Credit Card information (you must add one card at a time). Please see Registration instructions on Glass City’s Home Banking site and also the Visa Credit Card and Visa Debit Card page at glasscityfcu.com.

Q. What are the available functions of the Glass City Card Controls mobile app?

A. There are a variety of functions that this mobile app provides. For both debit card and credit card management, you can view pending and posted transactions, set controls and alerts which enable you to block or unblock specific transaction types, lock or unlock your card with a single touch, report a card as lost or stolen, set travel notifications regarding your destination and dates of travel, and file a dispute. Additional functions for credit card management include the ability to view payment history, and make a payment or schedule a payment for a specific date. 

Q. Why would I use the app function to lock or unlock my debit or credit card?

A. Registered cards are in the unlocked position as a default. You may desire to lock your card with a single touch for a variety of instances, such as: you misplaced your card but you know it is not lost or stolen, you have exceeded your monthly spend budget, you want to protect your card from fraud, etc.

Q. How do I lock or unlock my debit or credit card?

A. Go to the “Account Summary” screen and in the lower left corner of each card registered you will see a green “Unlock” button. Simply tap the button to lock your card; upon locking, the button will become red to indicate that the card is locked. Tap the button again, to unlock your card. 

Q. How do I then use the various functions of the app?

A. At login, you will be taken to the “Account Summary” screen which displays your downloaded card(s). Simply tap the card you would like to view and you will be taken to the “Transactions” screen, where you will see the various function icons at the bottom of the screen.

Q. How do I set Alerts with the app to receive notifications of card transactions and activity?

A. As an app user, you will receive automatic text alerts that begin with 663-68 for all debit and credit card transactions. To set up text alerts for specific transactions, tap the “Notification Settings” at the bottom of the “Transactions” screen and you will be taken to the “Notification Settings” screen. Tap “Alerts” and then tap the “All Transactions” drop down bar. At the bottom of the screen, scroll down and choose “Selected Transactions.” Enable your transactions of choice for those select alerts. If you have multiple cards registered, please verify settings are for the correct card by reviewing the card image shown above the Controls/Alerts listing. To disable text alerts for all transactions, select “None” in the drop down bar.

Q. How do I set Controls (to block or unblock specific transaction types) for my card(s)?

A. To set controls for specific transactions, tap the “Notification Settings” at the bottom of the “Transactions” screen, and you will be taken to the “Notification Settings” screen. Tap “Controls” and enable your transactions of choice for those select controls. If you have multiple cards registered, please verify settings are for the correct card by reviewing the card image shown above the Controls/Alerts listing. Please note: Transactions may be denied based on controls you have enabled. If a transaction is denied, review your control selections and disable if needed.

Q. What are the different Controls available to the user with the app?>

A. You can use the “Controls” feature to block or unblock your card(s) for the following: Locations, Merchant Types, Transaction Types and Spend Limits.  For details for each option, please tap on each selection./span>

The “My Location” controls can be enabled to block personally selected regions and/or international purchases. Please note: All in-store transactions will be denied if device (mobile phone) and merchant locations do not match. If a transaction is denied due to your “Locations” settings, disable as needed.

Q. How do I set up Travel Notifications?

A. Tap the “Travel Notifications” icon to go to that screen. Input your departure and return date, indicate if you are traveling inside or outside of the U.S., and your specific destination.

Q. How do I report my card Lost or Stolen?

A. Tap the “Lost or Stolen” icon to go to that screen. Select the date your card went missing and follow the prompts.

Q. How do I dispute a transaction with the app?

A. Go to the “Transactions” screen. Tap the transaction that you would like to dispute; then click the “Dispute” icon and follow the prompts.
