3/30/12 - Visa/MasterCard Data Breach Not Affecting GCFCU
A large Visa/MasterCard data breach is being reported in the news today. This data breach involved a third-party payment processor, not Visa and MasterCard directly.
At this time, Glass City Federal has NOT been notified that our Visa cards are part of this data compromise. If that should change, we will make every effort to notify our affected members as quickly as possible.
If you would like to view transactions that have occurred on your Visa credit card, you can always visit www.ezcardinfo.com. You can also use this site to set up different alerts pertaining specifically to your card.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact any branch.
10/26 - Possible Email Phishing Attempts
Credit union members have recently received online “phishing” attempts disguised as an e-mail notification from the Electronic Payments Association (NACHA) that an automated clearing house (ACH) transaction has failed. NACHA does not contact individuals or financial institutions regarding individual ACH transactions.
NACHA has posted information in the new “Fraud and Phishing Resources” area of its website to aid consumers and financial institutions in responding to these attempts, at www.nacha.org.
If you receive an e-mail regarding a failed ACH transaction purporting to be from NACHA, please forward the e-mail to abuse@nacha.org, and delete the message from your system.
9/19 - Phishing Phone Calls Alert
We have received information from several members who have received phone calls that appear to be from Visa (per Caller ID). The phone number associated with these calls may be 800-847-2911.
These calls are fraudulent in nature, and we take this opportunity to remind you to NEVER give out your personal credit card account (or any other) information if you did not initiate the call. If you are unsure, please tell the caller that you are going to investigate before providing any information, hang up, and contact us at Glass City Federal for assistance.
